About Us

Captain Jon Turner has been fishing the waters from Charlotte Harbor to Sarasota and Tampa Bay to New Port Richey for the past 20 years. He has an extensive knowledge of the area, and its many rivers and saltwater estuaries. Captain Jon works hard to make sure every trip is more than just a fishing trip; it’s an adventure!

You will fish for snook along mangrove lined islands or in one of our many rivers, these fish are known for there drag melting runs and awesome aerial displays. Redfish also inhabit these very same waters, referred to as Central Florida Bonefish because of their long powerful runs that do not quit until the equipment and angler have been tested to the max. We also have acres and acres of beautiful turtle grass flats that are teaming with many species of fish such as speckled trout, tarpon, jack crevalle, black drum and ladyfish. During the winter months we also have a large population of Tarpon that love to show off how well they can fly. These fish can all be caught in a variety of ways, from light spinning tackle to fly equipment. No matter how you tackle these gamesters they always exhilarate the angler.

Captain Jon Turner topped the Professional Redfish Tour's Tampa Open Event on September 27th, 2003 with a 1st Place Finish- total aggregate weight of 17.20lbs!

Barefoot Charters offers a variety of great charters. You can go fishing on the 2300 Bay Ranger, well known for its smooth ride & overall versatility. The large, unobstructed casting decks are ideal for fly fishing and the oversized gunnels deliver a 360° fishing platform.
